About QMET

Quantum Metrology Laboratory at Chungbuk National University — pioneering quantum sensing technologies and quantum computing algorithms.

Our Mission

We explore the full spectrum of quantum technology, from precision sensing that pushes measurement limits to quantum computing algorithms that harness the power of quantum mechanics for computational advantage.

Our laboratory serves as a bridge between fundamental quantum physics and real-world applications, training the next generation of researchers who can navigate both academic inquiry and industrial innovation.

Quantum Computing

We develop and implement quantum algorithms using two distinct paradigms: D-Wave quantum annealing systems for optimization problems and the IQM Spark gate-based quantum computer for universal quantum computation. This dual approach allows us to explore the strengths of each architecture.

Quantum Sensing Research

  • NV center-based magnetometry
  • Rydberg atom electric field sensing
  • Atomic magnetometer for brain signal measurement
  • Precision measurement beyond classical limits

Instrumentation Development

Beyond quantum research, we develop advanced instrumentation including 5-axis mirror alignment algorithms. This work cultivates versatile engineers equipped with precision optics and automation skills — preparing talent for both quantum technologies and broader industrial applications.
